First off, Heathrow – looking at it via Google Maps, there’s sod all space for expansion without taking out a load of villages and things in the process + the A4.

Stansted [View in Google Maps] – Well it appears to have some room for expansion.

Gatwick [View in Google Maps] – Appears to have a bit of room for expansion, but not much.

Manston (Kent) [View in Google Maps] – One of the most favoured options by opponents to a 3rd Runway at Heathrow, due to it’s proximity with HS1 + there’s an aviation firefighting school based there too.

Boris Island / Foster’s Island (Isle of Grain) – Proposals for building a new Airport in the Thames Estuary around Sheerness + Southend-on-Sea, and my other favourite choice. The only MAIN PROBLEM voiced by critics is the proximity to the wreck of the USS Richard Montgomery with upto 3,000 tons of Explosives still on board, which could cause a large blast if they were set off. Said to be almost as quick to build as a 3rd Runway.

RAF Upper Heyford [View in Google Maps] – A year or so ago I spotted this place via Google Earth / Google Maps, last known to be in use storing surplus cars from Screaming Lord Mandelson’s car scrappage scheme. I believe this would be an ideal location for a new London Airport. It even has a railway line going past it that goes straight into London, as well as being in close proximity to the M40 Motorway. There’s been recent news of a consortium looking to build a similar idea in the same area.

• Re-open the Picton to Battersby Railway Line
• Re-open a line from Northallerton to Ripon, Wetherby & Tadcaster
• Bring the Esk Valley Line back to double track at Whitby, Ruswarp, Sleights & Grosmont
• Lincoln Rail Bypass
• Create a “Pickering South” Railway station to re-connect the town to York & Scarborough by Rail.

* I’m sort of in favour of HS2, but would prefer another proposal I’ve seen for an ULTRASPEED MagLev train.

The previous MP to get into my bad books being Claire Perry – the one completely oblivious to products such as Net Nanny, Cyber Patrol, the filtering built into ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite & similar products, and even Internet Browsers such as Internet Exploder & Mozilla Firefox. It’s now even built into the Windows7 Operating System, for christ’s sake. The one who wants ISPs to introduce porn filtering as default on their web access packages, similar to the bloody useless one VODAFONE place on their customers that discriminates against people who can only get a Debit Card, not a Credit Card (that’s needed to prove age to get past the sodding filter) + blocks legitimate websites as well as dodgy ones. She was also the one who told the excellent Douglas Carswell MP to f___ off to UKIP, and previously also had an outburst against “Mr Squeaker” Bercow.

• Energy Minister / Minister for Energy & Utilities (attached to the Department for Business)

I found James Delingpole’s Dog Shit Yoghurt theory *blog postings amusing, and as usual appear to be right…….. this latest headline makes it look like the Coalition is currently running an “x% extra-free” offer of more dog crap in the Yoghurt lately (if you include that home improvements / forced green projects / green levy announcement before this as well), or gone the whole hog and decided to get shot of the yoghurt part of it completely.

Around 26th Feb, George Osborne says “UK has Run out of Money“, and seems to be going ahead with a Fuel Tax rise at a time everyone’s screaming out for him to cut the damn things to stop harming the economy + cut government spending to fund Tax cuts.

Then a few days later, there is the headline “Foreigners to get £20,000 HIV Drugs FREE on the NHS“…. what part of “there’s no money left” don’t they get their heads round?

UK Government spending last year = £710billion

That means filling your car now costs:

• £11 more than one of those Amazon Kindle E-Reader gadgets
• Filling your tank 4 times costs the same as an iPhone 3GS cost me to buy outright on Pay as You Go from the Vodafone Online Store last year, or also the same as an iPAD2 16GB WiFi.
• Filling it 5 times costs about the same as a near top of the range Panasonic Camcorder + decent sized SDHC card to record the pictures & video’s on.
